ADOPT-A-ROOM PROJECT

Hillsborough House of Hope provides women who have been incarcerated a Christian home and guidance while they get their lives back in order.
Under the supervision of a program director and resident house manager, the residents live and learn in a program that is tailored to their personal needs.
Through our partners they are offered outpatient drug programs, vocational training, career counseling, recovery support, life coaching, and medical and dental care and assistance.

Our first house (Palmer House) consists of women who enter our six-month program.  the second house (Pat Cook House) houses women who have graduated from our program or a similar program but would like to continue living in our transitional step-down house. We have created an atmosphere in this house to safely allow visitation of their children while the mom awaits reunification. The yard is fenced, and has a swing set along with sitting areas and outdoor toys for the children to enjoy while visiting. Our third house (Walker’s Landing) has allowed us to house four additional women and continue our mission. Many of them are now waiting for affordable housing. At each house every woman has her own bedroom because we feel every woman deserves privacy. This helps them learn responsibility and increases their self-esteem.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I “ADOPT-A-ROOM”?
You may adopt a room in any house. Give your room a name and we will frame it and place it outside the bedroom door. It is not expected, but you may decide to decorate the room and give it a special touch.
You will receive a Certificate of Appreciation, and we will list your adoption in our newsletter (unless you request otherwise) and keep you updated on our program.

Minimum $100 per bedroom (monthly)
Main House: 4 bedrooms (Palmer House)
